'Zack Snyder's Justice League' Officially Releasing on HBOMax in 2021!
Updated: May 30, 2020
Fans worldwide celebrate as the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement has finally been answered over at Warner Bros! The power of fandom! A lot of us are still in shock, as it didn't feel like it could ever happen!
Snyder completed most of the work on Justice League back in 2016 but dropped out during the post production after a family tragedy. Warner Bros brought in Joss Whedon (Avengers Assemble & Age of Ultron) but his different style to Snyder lead fans to believe that Snyder's original cut was completely different and left many plot holes.
The original cast themselves were in support of their beloved director Zack, heartbroken that the man who changed their lives had been stopped from sharing his true vision.
Wonderwoman actress Gal Gadot even tweeted the ongoing hashtag with later Ben Affleck (Batman), Zack Snyder himself and Jason Momoa (Aquaman) joining in to support the release of Snyder's original cut. The movement went on for 2 years!
Watch below as Jason Mamoa wanted to speak the release into existence!
The news broke as rumours were flying around that Zack Snyder has been having meetings with WB, these were in fact confirmed when Zack Snyder himself was having a Zoom watch party of his movie 'Man of Steel' and this is how it was announced:
Look at Henry Cavill just chilling there like he knew the whole time...yeah, I see ya!
So what does this mean for the Snyder Cut? How is it going to be completed?
Comicbook.com reports that
'There's word that the effort to complete Snyder's vision could cost between $20-30 million dollars, with more visual effects to be completed alongside the final cut. This could result in a much more substantial version of the movie than was released in theaters after Joss Whedon took over film making duties, though he only received a co-writing credit for his work on the finished project.
There's also a question surrounding the involvement of actors such as Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, and even Ben Affleck. While there's no word about any need for reshoots yet, a report from THR indicates that Zack Snyder's Justice League could bring back the original actors to record additional dialogue. Whether that takes place in the form of ADR or pickups remains to be seen.'
“I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized. Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the SnyderCut movement for making this a reality,” -Zack Snyder.
I guess Jason Mamoa's Aquaman powers spoke it into existence!
