Westworld's Jeffrey Wright in Talks to Play Commissioner Gordon in Matt Reeves' 'The Batman'
Westworld star Jeffrey Wright, has reportedly been in talks to play Commissioner Jim Gordon in The Batman starring Robert Pattinson in the titular role. This would mark the first time that Gordon would be played by an actor of colour!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wright is in negotiations to take on the role, succeeding JK Simmons in the role, that he probably would've continued playing, had Ben Affleck's Batman series continued.
This is potentially the biggest news surrounding the film since Pattinson was announced as Bruce Wayne, and to add to the drama - it has been reported that Jonah Hill is in talks for a role as an as yet unspecified villain!
Wright is perhaps best known for his role as Bernard in HBO smash hit, Westworld. Wright also starred in The Hunger Games series, as well as being a member of the Daniel Craig-led James Bond films. Next, he will actually be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he will voice the famous character, The Watcher, in the Disney Plus Marvel Series, What If...?
Exciting times are ahead for this actor, and we cannot wait to see him take on the role of Commissioner Gordon, should the talks go through. The Batman is shaping up nicely, with an absolutely astonishing cast!
