The 'Eternals' Trailer is Finally Here

Thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, there's been delay after delay in regards to the future of Marvel films. Eternals was hit hard being pushed back to a point where we've seen a Black Widow and Shang Chi trailer, but nothing on Eternals. Well nothing until now. Lets see the first trailer for the Marvel's Eternals

From what we can initially see is establishing shots of what might be Babylonia/Sumeria (Ancient Iraq) with humans seeing a large ship approaching. We also get our first look at Syrian born Norweigian actor Zain Al Rafeea who appears to be a regular teenager in this ancient nation. Is it possible he has any relation to Gilgamesh (Don Lee) who is based off the mythological figure from the Epics of Gilgamesh. Or related to the backstory of Salma Hayek or Haaz Sleiman's character? Considering the shared West Asian Arabic heritage between the three actors.

  • The next shot shows us Sersi (Gemma Chan) with Ikaris (Richard Madden) seemingly inside the ship looking over humanity with Sersi stating "it's Beautiful, isn't it".

  • We fade into the next shots of Thena (Angelina Jolie), Ajak (Salma Hayek) and Sprite (Lia McHugh) all in a dark room watching Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry) constructing something out of energy.

  • Next Sersi is back at it with her powers to provide water and crops for the humans. Followed by a blink and you miss it shots of Angelina Jolie doing swordplay in an Asian temple with British Asian stunt man Hasit Savani (Best known as Mena Massoud's stunt double in Aladdin) holding his shield up and ready to fight.

  • We get our little money shot of Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), Gilgamesh and Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani) joining Thena and Ikaris in front of presumably the same temple that Thena was fighting in.

  • We also learn that Makkari is a speed reading book worm as we see in the following clip.

  • The Narration indicates how the Eternals lived among humanity for centuries and never interfered in any conflicts until now. Make us wonder why they didn't do anything about Thanos (since he was an Eternal too and literally Decimated half the universe of all life).

  • We are treated to multiple quick cuts featuring Sersi in an Ancient city and then modern day London, a few dark clips of fire and war. A close up of Lia McHugh's sprite looking ready to cry, Ajak and Phastos in tears embracing one another and finally Druig (Barry Keoghan) makes his entrance.

Barry Keoghan as Druig
  • We see more shots of the Eternals together with Gilgamesh holding hands with presumable Thena. Makkari uses her super speed to save a child in a blink and Ajak channeling some golden energy in her hands.

  • We then get treated to a shot of the Eternals Sersi, Druig and Makkari seemingly doing some type of energy manipulation as they float together surrounded by golden energy looking like the Uni-Mind from the comics.

  • Thena brandishing her golden sword in a quick shot from the teaser

  • Ikkaris and Sersi are strangely enough seem to be getting married in an South Asian styled wedding (maybe Kingo's idea).

  • Speaking of Kingo, we get a few shots of the Marvel Bollywood star in what we believe appears to be a dance scene how very Bollywood-eques, We also know that a certain Nikita Chadha (from the Cornershop movie and Aladdin) will be present during that scene.

Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo Bollywood style
  • Next we get a shot of one of the Eternals fighting what we can assume is a Deviant monster

  • Follow by people with glowing eyes pointing shot guns. We can guess someone is using their psychic powers on them which all of the Eternals are fully capable of doing.

  • Then we get quicks cut featuring a volcanic eruption, Sprite singing karaoke and finally the first look at Kit Harrington as Dane Whitman aka Black Knight.

  • The trailer leaves us with one finally look at the Eternals standing together but not before a quick joke at Ikkaris' expense. Sprite asks who would lead to the Avengers now there's no Ironman and Captain America. Ikkaris claims he could only for Kingo and the others to laugh at the dinner table.
