Sonic the Hedgehog Sequel is in the Works

Paramount Pictures and Sega Sammy have confirmed this Thursday that we are in fact getting a Sonic the Hedgehog sequel. Director Jeff Fowler and writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller are slated to return to the sequel
Based off the popular video-game franchise by Sega, the film released February this year with Ben Schwartz in the voice role of the Blue boosting Hedgehog with James Marsden as human friend Tom and Jim Carey as the games main villain Doctor Ivo Robotnik aka Dr Eggman. No plot details are confirmed for the sequel but it is likely all three will return and fans believe the sequel will introduce two of Sonic's best friends. Miles Prower aka Tails the Fox and Knuckles the Echinda.
Miles Prower is best known by his nickname Tails due to his abnormal double tail mutation which allows his to spin his tails like a helicopter rotor to fly and keep up with Sonic. He is also a gadget savvy child prodigy and serves as the main tech guy for team Sonic in many of the games and animated series. Rumours speculate Spiderman actor Tom Holland maybe the studios choice for the role of Tails the Fox.
Meanwhile Knuckles the Echinda is Sonic main rival and friend since Sonic 3. He is a lone guardian of the Master Emerald on the floating Island sometimes referred to as Angel Island. He serves as the muscle for Team Sonic usually the Boxer to Sonic's more dance styled fighting. the strength to Sonic's Speed. In his first appearance he is infamously tricked by Eggman into fighting Sonic so Eggman can steal the Master Emerald under his nose (Snout?), Knuckles even one shot KOed Super Sonic in the same game, the two eventually team up against Eggman. Rumours are pointing to the possibility of Dwayne Johnson playing the voice role of Knuckles the Echinda.
