Sebastian Stan Wants to Play Count Dracula in Universal's Monsterverse
Updated: May 30
Director Karyn Kusama had recently worked with the Romanian MCU star Sebastian Stan in the film Destroyer. Kusama is now slated to be the director of Blumhouse's Dracula movie as part of the Blumhouse Monster Cinematic Universe. As with the critical acclaim of 2020's Invisibleman. Blumhouse announced plans for a Dracula film this year in March and Sebastian Stan has shared his interest to play the titular blood sucking Romanian Count Dracula and emailed Karyn on the possibility.
Stan had reportedly told The Hollywood Reporter that: “I already emailed her about that. I said, ‘You know I’m from Romania, right?’ and she goes, ‘Yes, yes, it’s very early — and there’s a pandemic. Hopefully, we’ll see you in four years.'
Hopefully we will finally see this come true soon as Stan would notably be the first Romanian to actually play the character and bonus as he can still speak the language too as he demonstrates in Captain America: Civil War and here too.
