"Wira" Coming to Netflix

Yayan Ruian vs Hairul Azreen

Directed by Adrian Teh, The plot revolves around an ex-military man Hassan (portrayed by Taekwondo athlete Hairul Azreen) returning home after a long absence to help his family out of a situation with a local thug of the name Raja (portrayed by Dain Iskandar Said). The film also stars Indonesian Silat teacher and actor Yayan Ruhian as Ifrit (yes he is named after a class of Demons). Ruhian is best known for his roles in the Raid franchise, his cameo appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and in John Wick 3.

Netflix has taken up the Malaysian film after its immense success and will be available to stream on June the 15th.

"Malaysians who live around the world now have the chance to enjoy the stories of our national heroes," said Adrian, as quoted by Variety.

Previously, the co-production between ACT 2 Pictures, Multimedia Entertainment, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), Astro Shaw and Primeworks Studios was screened in more than 100 cinemas in Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and Singapore.
