Details on PS5's 'Horizon: Forbidden West' w/ High-Res Screenshots!

Horizon Zero Dawn first made its debut in 2017, and quickly astonished fans with its unique, post-apocalyptic fantasy world. Aloy's journey will take her into some wildly different new locations, complete with some underwater and forest settings as well as new hostile machines and tribes

WHEN IS IT SET?

It's unclear how long after the original game this sequel is set. Although Aloy mentions that it's been 1000 years since the Old Ones fell, the original game was set around the year 3040, some 974 years after the human extinction back in circa 2066. Now, if Horizon Forbidden West was actually set 1000 years after the Old Ones' extinction, we'd be looking at an Aloy some 26 years older than she was before. She was around 18/19 in the original game, which would now make her around 45 in this sequel.

NEW LOCATIONS!

Since it's obvious in the name, Aloy has officially gone West. We're seeing a lot more foresty and underwater locations, some locations look like we'll be visiting post-apocalyptic versions of San Francisco, including the Golden Gate Bridge. From the looks of that holographic dragon, and the gambling symbols she reveals, we may also be going to Las Vegas too. Maybe we'll bump into the Hangover cast as a tribe? (lol)

ANIMALS & NATURE ARE DYING

There's a brand new red plague taking over the world of Horizon Forbidden West, and it's clear that humanity – and the natural world as a whole – is at risk of extinction again.

MORE UNDERWATER EXPLORATION

Aloy's going underwater in Forbidden West – that's a given with all that water on the West Coast of America. It looks like there will be plenty of underwater exploration, and further options for stealth as Aloy is seen swimming directly underneath a Snapmaw, the crocodile machine from the original game. Maybe we'll get a Sharknado machine!!

NEW MACHINES & TRIBES

Is it just us or do these new machines look bad ass! Imagine riding one of those Mammoth looking machines! New tribes look very hostile!

SYLENS IS BACK LEARNING THE POWER OF HADES

Speaking of hostile here's a look at Sylens up to no good as he is figuring out the power of Hades. Voiced by actor Lance Reddick

WE ARE EXCITED!

Aloy is voiced by actress Ashly Burch, and her epic narrative in the trailer has got everyone pumped! As well as actress Janina Gavankar who voiced 'Tatai' in the Zero Dawn's Frozen Wilds expansion.

“It’s incredible, wait until you see the sequel, You’re gonna die....I know some secrets! – you’re gonna die."
