Updated: Jun 16

Its no surprise that with the announcement of Kamala Khan aka Ms Marvel for the MCU. We have people already fan casting young Asian actresses for the character.

What about the DC Universe?

Geek mode activate!

So let's talk about the DC Universe and it's ethnic characters, But in this case in particular, we have the Arabian character, bad ass "Ra's Al Ghul", leader of the League of Shadows / League of Assassins portrayed in "Batman Begins" by Liam Neeson, in "Arrow" (season 3) by Matt Nable and in "Gotham" by Alex Siddig.

The character has been noted for being "whitewashed" up until Alex Siddig (half Sudanese Arab), marking the first Arabian actor to play the sinister Ra's Al Ghul.

With Titans rocketing through their second season now, including the likes of Aqualad, Superboy, Krypto & Deathstroke. And with The CW launching a "Batwoman" series in Gotham City along with casting the legendary Kevin Conroy as an older Batman. We have a feeling there could be chance Ra's Al Ghul's Grandson / Batman's son "Damian Wayne" could make live action debut!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the character, Damian Wayne is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul. Grandson of Ra's Al Ghul and nephew to Dusan and Nyssa. He is the fourth character to take up the robin mantle. He was popular enough to be the main Robin/Nightwing in the Injustice games (Neatherrealm studios) and star as the titular character in Son of Batman (Animated Film).

We took it upon ourselves to do some cheeky fan casting, so if Warner Bros decide to give 'Titans' the go ahead on casting Damian Wayne - we called it first! Just saying!

1) Abdullah Ali 18 year old Saudi child actor Abdulla Ali would be great choice for Damian Wayne. He is starring alongside the likes of Ed Skrein (Deadpool, Transporter, Game of Thrones, Alita) in his first ever role Born a King where he portray Prince Faisal.

2) Aramis Knight. 19 year old American actor. Aramis Knight is another extremely popular contender for the role of Damian. He is of Pakistani and Indian origin from his father and Irish, German and English origin from his mother. Aside from being of young and of a similar Eurasian mixed raced background, Knight is best known for Into The Badlands where he plays the role of M.K. His character even has interesting parallels to Damian being a young lethal martial arts warrior with a dark side and inner rage. Aramis has the athletic ability to back this role from his martial arts training on set of Into The Badlands.

3) Shaheen Jafargholi. 20 year old Welsh actor/singer Shaheen Jafargholi is best known for his singing voice after appearing on Britains got Talent and then for his acting in Eastenders as the cheeky but well meaning Shakil Kazemi in Eastenders. He is also of Eurasian mixed raced origin being specifically half Welsh half Iranian.

4) Skandar Keynes. British actor Skandar Keynes may be best known for Edmund Pevensie of the Narnia franchise and may not have had much of an acting career outside of this. He would have been a perfect choice for Damian back in the day. Keynes is of English origin from his father and Asian heritage from his mother who is of Lebanese, Turkish and Iranian decent. He is also skilled in Taekwondo and fencing through his role in Narnia. He has since shown an interest in Middle Eastern studies, such knowledge could be applied to Damian’s Arabic heritage.

5) David Mazouz. This maybe familiar face for Batman fans. Yes this is the same actor who played the young Bruce Wayne in the Gotham series. Interesting many have though Mazouz could be re-casted as Damian Wayne especially considering his talent in Gotham has certainly proved he as the acting chops even at a young age. He is also of mixed raced origin being part Arab too. Mazouz is of Tunisian and Greek origin.

6) Jassa Ahluwalia. British actor Jassa Ahluwali may attract attention being known for Art Attack and Some Girls. He is however also another Eurasian actor that could pull off a potential Damian Wayne.

7) Alex Nazir Emsail. British actor Alex Esmail is best known for his role in Attack the Block. He is actually of Iraqi descent and was also quite an athletic lad having taken up wrestling as a part time hobby! Wouldn't mind a boy from endz as Damian Wayne!

8) Danny Shepherd. America actor and YouTuber Danny Shephard is best known for his Nightwing web series and one minute match ups. Despite being a fan favourite for Dick Grayson. He could also be a potential Damian (if he was not too old). He is also another actor with martial art background and is of Eurasian Mixed background being half Iranian on his mothers side.

9) Bodhi Sabongui. Son of Canadian-Egyptian actor Patrick Sobongui (David Singh in Flash) and American actress Kyra Zagorsky (Athena in Arrow). He played a minor role in Arrowverse himself as the child Bahrad Tomaz (Zari Tomaz's Brother). Due to his half Egyptian heritage, young age and the fact both his parents are trained martial artist (he likely could pick up a thing or two). Bodhi could make a strong contender for the role of Damian.

11) Louis Ashbourne Serkis. 15 year old British actor is best known for his role in the film The Kid Who Would Be King, playing the main character. Through his father Andy Serkis (yes Gollum from Lord of the Rings) he has a quarter Iraqi/Armenian heritage and also knows his way with a sword from his film role.

12) Anwar Hadid. 19 year old American male model Anwar Hadid is more of a wild card for the role Damian. While he does not have any acting experience, he is quite the spitting image of what you would expect Bruce Wayne’s eurasian son would look like especailly considering he is 6'1" which is we could expect a fully grown Damian Wayne to be if his dad is 6'2" and his grandfather Ra's is 6'4".. Being of Palestinian and Dutch descent fits the characters Eurasian/half arabic heritage too.
